Silynxcom Ltd. (NYSE American: SYNX) Develops AI-Powered Wearable Drone Detection System as It Expands Into Counter-Drone Defense

  • The AI-powered wearable acoustic drone-detection and early-warning platform is aimed at protecting individual soldiers from unmanned aircraft threats.
  • The prototype is designed to passively identify drone acoustic signatures rather than relying on radio-frequency emissions, potentially addressing threats from fiber-optic-guided drones that do not transmit conventional radio signals.
  • A mesh-networking capability under development is intended to allow alerts from one device to be shared with other connected users, extending warnings across a platoon.
  • The company plans to develop the technology as a standalone product platform, creating a potential business line beyond its established tactical communication and hearing-protection systems.
  • Silynxcom is entering a growing market: Fortune Business Insights projects the counter-uncrewed aircraft systems market to increase from $3.88 billion in 2026 to $16.45 billion by 2034.

Silynxcom (NYSE American: SYNX), a developer of advanced soldier-worn tactical communication solutions, is developing an artificial intelligence-powered wearable drone-detection system designed to warn soldiers of approaching unmanned aircraft, marking a strategic move by the tactical communications company into the counter-drone defense market.

Announced on October 21, the prototype-stage platform is being designed to identify drone acoustic signatures in real time and alert the individual wearing the device. Because detection is passive, the system is designed to identify threats without revealing the soldier’s position. Silynxcom says the system will use sound rather than radio-frequency emissions to detect potential threats, an approach aimed at drones that conventional radio-frequency detectors may miss, including fiber-optic-guided drones that emit no radio signal and cannot be picked up by RF-emission detectors or disrupted by RF jammers (https://ibn.fm/T7awW).

The development represents an expansion beyond Silynxcom’s established business manufacturing ruggedized tactical communication headsets and accessories. The company intends to develop the new technology as a standalone product platform rather than solely as an enhancement to its existing equipment. That architecture could allow Silynxcom to approach defense customers with requirements beyond tactical communications, while retaining the option to connect the new device with existing communication systems where needed.

A central element of the system is its planned ability to share detection alerts among multiple users. Silynxcom is developing a mesh-networking capability that is designed to let wearable devices communicate directly with one another, so a warning generated by one soldier is relayed to other connected members of a platoon. Each device is designed to detect drones on its own. The aim is to provide early warning without making the system dependent on existing tactical radio networks or fixed infrastructure. As more soldiers connect, the network is designed to form a wider layer of protection across the unit.

The company’s initial focus is individual-soldier protection, with the modular approach intended to support deployments ranging from single users to connected military units.

“From Ukraine to the Middle East, modern warfare has brought the drone threat down to the individual soldier,” said Chief Executive Officer Nir Klein. “Troops need warning that moves with them as they disperse and operate beyond defended positions. Fixed-site defenses are important, but they are only one part of the protection soldiers need. This initiative represents more than the development of a new product. It marks our strategic entry into an entirely new defense market. By designing a wearable detection device combined with networked group protection, we aim to help address the protection gap at the individual-soldier level and turn one soldier’s drone warning into shared awareness across a connected platoon. We believe this can establish a new platform for long-term growth.”

The product enters a market receiving increasing attention as militaries contend with the spread of relatively inexpensive unmanned aircraft across conventional battlefields. Drones can be used for surveillance and targeting, while attack drones can threaten personnel and equipment even when troops are away from established defensive positions.

According to a Fortune Business Insights market study, the counter-uncrewed aircraft systems market is projected to grow from $3.88 billion in 2026 to $16.45 billion by 2034, representing a compound annual growth rate of 19.79%. That broad market includes detection and interdiction technologies.

Silynxcom develops and manufactures in-ear tactical communication and hearing-protection systems used by military personnel, law enforcement agencies and industrial customers. Its products are designed to support communications while protecting hearing and preserving awareness of the surrounding environment.

The company’s PROTEGO headsets, paired with its CLARUS control unit, combine electronic ambient-sound enhancement with its TRUE VOICE in-ear microphone technology. The latter captures speech from within the ear canal, reducing reliance on conventional external boom microphones. Its systems also support connections to professional-grade radios and other communications equipment.

Until now, Silynxcom’s drone capability has been a drone-detection audio mode on its CLARUS control unit, which enhances the frequencies associated with drone sounds so operators can hear distant drone activity more clearly. The new platform goes further: running on the CLARUS control unit and using the microphones in the PROTEGO headsets, it turns each soldier into an acoustic sensor, applies AI to analyze drone acoustic signatures and issues alerts automatically. A single unit is designed to detect threats on its own, and when multiple users are connected through the mesh network, alerts are intended to be shared across the unit.

Silynxcom is establishing a dedicated team for the counter-drone initiative. The team includes recently recruited professionals with years of experience in drone technologies, including at leading drone manufacturers in Israel. The company expects the team to combine that experience with its knowledge of tactical acoustics and ruggedized equipment.

The company reported approximately $7.3 million in backlog as of April 30, 2026, compared with $5.8 million in total revenue for 2025. International diversification is another consideration. Israel accounted for approximately 74% of the company’s 2025 revenue, while more recent military orders and deliveries in Asia and Europe have supported efforts to expand outside its home market.

The wearable drone-detection platform could give Silynxcom an additional route into defense procurement programs. Its ability to detect fiber-optic-guided drones, which RF-based systems may miss, also addresses a threat drawing increasing attention on today’s battlefields. In addition, its standalone design may broaden the range of customers that can evaluate the technology without replacing their existing communication systems.
